Delighted to have been elected as Vice President of Glasgow Society of Women Artists. Originally established in 1882 by eight of the first women students at the Glasgow School of Art, the GLASGOW SOCIETY OF LADY ARTISTS flourished until 1971 when sadly it was disbanded due to financial pressures. However it was revived in 1975 as the GLASGOW SOCIETY OF WOMEN ARTISTS and currently enjoys a membership of around 151 artists and 57 lay members.
Delighted to have been selected for Vogue's Masterpiece section in their International Collections Issue September 2013. I have a painting and an article printed in this issue!
See below for article;
Rosanne Barr sets the tone for a new generation of Scottish Landscape Artists. Colour and movement, dramatic skies and evocative foregrounds reveal nature’s wildest coastline.
International Artist of the Year at Florida’s Great Gulf Arts Festival 2012, Rosanne (31), features in private collections in the USA, New Zealand, Thailand and Dubai.
A Jolomo Award Laureate, Rosanne exhibits across the UK including Edinburgh, London, Bath, Kirkcudbright, Oxford and Glasgow.
I have just completed my largest commission to date (150 x 90 cm ) for a lovely couple in Dumblane. The painting is now hanging in their beautiful extension. The painting was inspired by my recent trip to Iona and it captures the beautiful calm weather at the start of the summer!
