I was delighted to receive the following from one of my clients who commissioned his second set of paintings inspired by the western Isles;
"We must collaborate again some other time Rosanne!
I have really found it both enjoyable and artistically rewarding to be so
closely involved with the, very successful, latest project.
I feel it has been a genuine meeting of our different but complementary
artistic worlds where the combination has added up to more than the
You deserve congratulations for being so open minded and allowing such an
experience to flourish."
Ian Giles, retired photographer.
Anyone wishing to commission a painting please do get in touch, all ideas are most welcome and I enjoy a challenge!!
I hope you too have also felt some benefit on artistic grounds alone.
Another wonderful week spent in Orkney , staying at my parents house in Birsay. Wild storms, sunny skies and warm sunsets and I am now overloaded with paintings ideas , cant wait to get painting.....
After two years of planning applications to buy land from the council I finally have my new studio built!! It has been well worth the wait as I can finally swing a cat and a dog and probably even a giraffe in my new studio... so if you fancy a visit to see my latest work please get in touch!
Second painting from the set of three Isles commissioned by the Giles.

My Painting was used in advertising for the GSWA annual exhibition at the Lillie Gallery , Milngavie.
I am now showing with a number of new galleries in England; Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea, London. The Art Agency in Surrey, The look Gallery in Helmsley, York and continuing to sell well at the Red Rag Gallery in Bath and the Wren Gallery in Burford.
I was commissioned by Diageo Whisky Specialists to paint a landscape which represented the blends in Johnnie Walker Red Label and a painting to represent Johnnie Walker Black Label. The company has a blending room where guests watch and taste the blending process. The paintings are to aid the whisky specialist in explaining the process of whisky blending to an audience. The blend of colours and the composition of this painting has blended areas and areas which pop and draw the viewer in. Red Label is a contemporary Whisky aimed and this painting was to be fresh and bold.
Diageo Whisky Specialist Commission
I was commissioned by Diageo Whisky Specialists to paint a landscape which represented the blends in Johnnie Walker Red Label and a painting to represent Johnnie Walker Black Label. The company has a blending room where guests watch and taste the blending process. The paintings are to aid the whisky specialist in explaining the process of whisky blending to an audience. This painting for Johhnie Walker Black Label represents the more classic flavours and it is a more subtle blend, no one flavour is prominent. Hopefully the painting will help ignite conversation!
Another happy client! I was commissioned by the lovely Mr Rayapoor and his sister to paint four pieces for their Cafe in Richmond, London. They were wonderful to work with and I was able to produce four very different paintings. They were framed in a dark wood to match the shop interior. Many thanks and look forward to visiting the Cafe! More photos to follow!

Like Buses commissions always seem to come at once! Always a great challenge to paint for a customer and hopefully come up with something they hoped for! This week I have been approached by three different customers to commission a painting. Lets hope the creative juices are flowing!
This is my second exhibition with the Whitehouse Gallery, last year was a near sell out , so looking forward to exhibiting again here in the lovely town of Kirkcudbright.
Delighted to have completed a 120 cm x 60 cm commission which will look fantastic in their lovely home. Although there might be a war over who gets to sit in on the chair that faces the painting!!

Just returned from a sun soaked trip to Mull where we visited colour filled Tobermory in our new campervan. I returned to my favourite Island; Staffa, where I was delighted to watch a flurry of Puffins zooming in and out of their burrows with freshly caught fish. Then I spent hours fishing in Iona's tranquil waters with my four year old son Keir. For crystal waters and silky white beaches, Iona is a dream location and I can't wait to get back and capture it on canvas!
Just returned from another trip to Orkney, one glorious day of sun, trekked across to the Brough of Birsay, we found a secret cave and then watched a people got soaked returning from the Island as the tide was coming in over the pathway.
Waves were not as impressive as usual, but the sunset was mesmerising. The following few days offered either heavy showers or sea haar so the views were pretty washed out. However this in turn gave me plenty of inspiring clouds , full of colour and often with a hurricane like appearance.

I have been asked to paint an Orang-utan to raise money for the animal welfare charity, Elephant Family. The project is called Jungle in the City. My concept was based on the idea that my Orang-utan has travelled to Scotland to find a new habitat for his family, as he travels around Scotland he sends postcards home with images of Scotland. My idea incorporates my paintings, which I painted across the entire body of the sculpture which was pretty tricky! Keir my son enjoyed the new house mate!
The aim of the Jungle City project is to raise both money and awareness for the conservation of the endangered species.
Each animal will be sponsored and decorated before being placed around Edinburgh. After two months, they will be gathered together and auctioned off to raise £1m for the charity.
Please vote for my painting to win the cover competition for the Ken Bromley Art Magazine. You can register your vote on the following link http://www.artsupplies.co.uk/covercomp/
Many thanks, Rosanne

I have just completed my first and possibly last outdoor mural at my son's nursery school. Through wind , rain and hail stones I battled to complete a painting of little group of shops for the nursery children to role play with,, they can even draw on the little blackboards painted in front of the shops. It was great to have lots of spectators throughout the few weeks of painting and the children all seem to love it. So thanks for a great challenge and I hope it continues to withstand the ever changing Scottish weather!!!
Please come along to the Concept Art Gallery in Bearsden, Schaw Lodge , 14 Drymen rd G61 3SG. It is an open weekend Saturday and Sunday. For full collection please visit http://www.concept-art.co.uk/
I have just returned from the Great Gulf Arts Festival in Pensacola (Florida) and had a fantastic time giving demonstrations, lectures and exhibiting my work at the exhibition. It was an amazing event attracting over 150, 000 visitors and an array of talented artist exhibiting their work. The committee treated me like a celebrity and I was welcomed off the aeroplane to a champagne reception on a limo style party bus! I met the Mayor of Pensacola, judged the most incredible Halloween costume party at Seville square, saw the Blue Angel jets air show from the top of a lighthouse and enjoyed the beautiful white sands and lagoon waters of Pensacola. It was an unforgettable experience and superb exposure, with newspaper photos and radio adverts. Now back to the clouds of Scotland after three weeks of blue sky!
